Would love to take credit Your Pal Doug, but mate of a mate is a carpenter and really sorted me out. Wanted to be able to tuck the floorstanders away so the kids dont knock them over.

Hi everyone I'm Duncan
Thanks for letting me explore.
Probably started like many of you with tv shows - Tangerine Dream - everything else in between - horror soundtracks - soundtracks/scores -  Italian/ Japanese composers - library

Currently a bit obsessed with the Coloursound Library (mainly Joel Vandroogenbrooek) Toei Soundtracks (Pinky Violence) and Underwater records
Love the site - amazed with all your knowledge
Cheers!

Hi. Isn't this amazing!  Thanks for letting me in.  ;D

My background is in recording, radio and TV.  The interest in library music started early:  in the 50s and 60s my dad (a recording engineer and radio producer) used to bring new-release KPMs and Chappels home to audition.

About 10 years back I got lucky enough to inherit about-to-be-scrapped KPM (and other) CDs from a TV station, and as a result there's a couple of hundred library CDs in my collection adding to the vinyls purchased over the years (much to the chagrin of Mrs TheMaiz, who would prefer to have the space back).

Like so many people (I'm sure), I literally fell over this forum by accident while (desperately!) trying to track down a preview source of a disc - in this case  MLC-E1 from "The Music Library", an organisation that seems to have vanished.

OK, now the ask.  I've been trying to re-identify a track used by a fellow presenter some 20 years ago.  I can describe and play it, and I have snippets of on-air use.  Is there a tool that will help locate a track given any of that info, or is there a brainstrust process here that can help?

Welcome, TheMaiz! Great to hear your story.

I'm sure someone around here can answer your questions :)  On tools for tracking down tracks, you might have better luck posting in the General Discussion section.
