Unknown circa 1950's cue

Hello again folks! I was wondering about the whereabouts of this production cue in particular. It was part of the Gordon Zahler library, and it was used as late as 1974.

I'm not entirely sure if Zahler's library was even open by that point, since he died the following year, so that makes me wonder what library it originally came from. I would say JW, but I have yet to see it resurface on APM, so Impress or Conroy would be my best guesses.

And it frequently appeared on Cambria's "The New Three Stooges" and in the made-for-TV UPA shorts starring "Mr. Magoo" and "Dick Tracy".

I know this track, but unfortunately I can't give you its name. I'm pretty sure it's something written by Darrell Calker for Zahler's library, though.

Incidentally, there's a track heard in a few projects that used the Zahler library that appears to be a "Pt. 2" to this track, you can hear it opening this New three Stooges cartoon for example:

Thanks a ton! I always assumed the Darrell Calker/Hans J. Salter, etc. cues were merely reused film soundtracks, especially given that a lot of Hans J Salter's scores for Universal in the 1950’s were reused on a few low budget B movies that Zahler's company was credited for. (i.e. "Women of the Prehistoric Planet" uses part of Salter's score from "The Incredible Shrinking Man".) So I merely assumed Calker's cues were reused from the old Walter Lantz shorts he worked on. One small cue I do for sure suspect is Calker's however, is the opening title card music used in the New Three Stooges short, "Classical Clinker". It's a short one, but it does kind of remind me of his music on the Lantz cartoons. Take a listen.

From what I can gather though, Zahler and Lantz had a partnership in the 60s, and Darrell Calker himself seems to have briefly come back to Lantz's in the early 60s, so it's possible it could have been sourced from one of those later Lantz shorts. I haven't checked them out yet to know for sure.

I haven't gone through all the 40s and 60s Calker-scored Lantz cartoons to see if there's any of these old Zahler cues in there, but I honestly would like to think that a bunch of these tracks attributed to him might've actually been original compositions for the Zahler library (the "circus" tracks heard in such New 3 Stooges shorts as "A Flycycle Built for Two" and "Ready Jet Set Go" come to mind).

However, wouldn't surprise me if some of these are indeed recycled cues from old 40s Lantz scores, a few of these sound 40s-ish to me, like the "wah, waaaah" track you inquird about.
