It's neat that you happen to have a board with a title mentioning "DIY Comps...", 'cause that's what I made once!
In 2013, just for fun, I made myself a CDR called "Saturday Night Tanner", using tracks from my Tanner record collection (mostly generic vocal jingles, so you know) with a disco sound.
I had this belief, and still do somewhat, that Pepper-Tanner at least accidentally invented disco. To make this point, before I got to the obvious disco-inspired stuff of the 70's, I included tracks from the 60's to early-70's that had sortof a "disco-like" sound. Pepper-Tanner's attempts at "western" music, for example, seemed (to me, anyway) to have this "accidental disco" beat.
Then, of course, there's some disco tracks from the mid-late 70's, as well as stuff from the 80's that had a disco-like beat to it.
I still have the 99 WAV files used to make this, which I put in this zip file. I also included the inside-insert, outside-insert, and label files for it that I made using PrintMaster Gold.
I also included a TXT playlist, with track titles and the records they came from. My guesses of years might be off, but hopefully not by much.
The file is 550 MB.
