What an amazing looking site, thanks for letting me join!
Well, I'm not good at brevity but let's see...
Basically, alongside all my "normal" music, I've developed a love of music & sound that's... How can I put it? Less mainstream.
As a kid I would make tapes of the trade test card music, although sadly none survive. More recently there was Johnny Trunk & other such discoveries.
A love of BBC Radiophonic music & Doctor Who soundtracks - something that's been going on for a few years - has kind of escalated over the past few months into a desire to create a library of all the music that's been used in Doctor Who from the beginning, in order & in as good a quality as possible.
This was fuelled by the discovery, a few weeks ago, of dozens of "full soundtrack" files on YouTube. Lossy but acceptable. They would do for the time being, and as I downloaded them, tagged them & made cover art for each one, I realised that they each would have been culled from the isolated soundtracks on the recent blu-ray collections. Of course, I own all of those, so at some point I can set about making my own lossless versions.
In the mean time, I started to collate the tracks I already had, from various Radiophonic & soundtrack CDs.
Fortunately for me, the Doctor Who fan base is such that I knew a list of all the music would be out there somewhere.
Having found it I decided to start at the top & the top led me straight here!

I look forward to learning, to being introduced to loads of new stuff & probably asking a bunch of fool questions along the way.
