DWS/LP 3439 - High and Counting (1981)
« on: July 21, 2020, 11:06:05 AM »
This is one of the De Wolfe's that was not only shared in the all inclusive BWP De Wolfe thread from yesteryear, but I'm certain at some point was also shared by Mr., Retronic or another member.

If anyone has this in any quality MP3, an upload would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, I have grown to love The International Studio Orchestra, the artists for this record; and have been tracking down several of their library releases.

Thank you,

Daryl in Delaware AKA joelfan71

I guess you've seen BWP's incomplete copy here:

It's missing track A4, "Supermarch" but it's a start.

I'm also a fan of the International Studio Orchestra, so I hope to see anything new that you find for them!

PS- is there really a "BWP Death Wolfe thread"? Sounds like something I'd like to see.  ;)

International Studio Orchestra looks so prolific that I'd think it was a name for a rotating group of musicians over the years. I didn't find anything useful in a quick look online, but I'm definitely curious now.

Here is a low-quality recording of "Supermarch" that used to be on Dave Volsky's YouTube channel, before it went down.
hess://www35.zippyshare.com/v/KMg8Hw4y/file.html

Interestingly, it was used by the arcade game company Gottlieb as the theme song for "M.A.C.H. 3", a laserdisc game where you bomb down targets and airborne enemies on top of full-motion video footage. The game is known to be one of the most successful laserdisc arcade games of all time, and was even distributed by Taito in Japan.

Nigel Hess' "Supermarch" is used in the landing sequence at 28:29 in the video. An 8-bit version also plays over the leaderboard screen.
This is probably the reason why De Wolfe Music took it out of the previews online.

Thanks! I wouldn't call it low quality though it's a clean 192k MP3 apparently ripped from CD. That's actually much better listening than FLAC from vinyl with a lot of surface problems.
