Fotos of Capitol Hi-Q series
« on: April 20, 2020, 06:35:13 PM »
A new one data base was created from two large files (by Mr. and me) and is available for download, which primarily contains only labels (112MB):
https://mega.nz/folder/WSIyhAiK#Qz7lHlFxb0--Wj3uAHtT3A

At the same time, a second database is created, which contains further information on each issue. Both will be merged again and will then be available for download as a reference "library".

Everything is interesting from the Capitol Hi-Q series, photos of labels, back cover, cassettes or further information. Please provide larger amounts of data as a download.

1) Do you have other or different photos or in better quality? Please upload or send to my email (see profile).
2) You don't have time to compare everything? Then send everything as an email or make it available for download, please

Nice work!

Addendum: Of equal interest to yours truly are additional images of the same LPs already listed here, even if of inferior quality. It seems some or all of these records were released in several different issues, and this'd go a long way in helping identify these, and their chronology.

Yes, I agree with you !
The first step has been taken and now the support of all members is important. Regardless of this, I am still looking and I already have two new photos. Does the upload of photos depend on the number of posts? I can not upload photos...

We don't host images directly on the server. Post the image to an image host (postimg, imgur, etc.) and link it here using tags.

For instance:

I have a handful of repeats for Reel L-155/156 and Reel M-29/30 with some slight variations.

Though my Reel L-111/112 looks completely different than yours.

Thank you for your photos. These will be included in the next update.
That is precisely the problem. An identical REEL number but different titles. Sometimes the titles were only renamed (same length, same song).
That is the goal to get an overview of the different editions that exist.

This is the sort of thing I've been wanting more info on - great!

Yours, a 1963 issue, predates the one in the archive, which has the round Capitol logo introduced in 1969. I'd wager a guess yours is the original release which was discontinued for whatever reason, and the latter reuses the same catalogue number for different, similarly-themed material.

A good example is REEL L-3:
1956   FB-2643    6 tracks
1957   GB-4139  10 tracks
1964   RB-2155  10 tracks (same as GB-4139 only different names)

I hope that many more photos will be posted !
