Been a long day at work and nothing soothes the soul like getting a bit Boosey. I've been ripping these for a while, missing out the ones that looked boring (I'll probably go back to them later).
In case you didn't know the cataloguing looks a little strange initially with SBH 2957 having a later date than 3001, for example. This is simply because I believe they started on 3000 and as they released LPs, 3001, 3002, etc they were also releasing alongside these archive material from the 10"/ 78's on 2999, 2998, etc
Here's the first batch:
SBH 2957 - Drama

Thanks Retronic! Especially for Boosey & Hawkes SBH 3002
I've used "Proud Era" by Andrew Basil for "Super Hero" scenes in many comedy kid shows.
I own this record and only have a rip @ 192 kbps
Same for Record SBH 3005 Drama In Strings
Cheers!
glug glug glug
-
Thank you so much, Retronic, awesome share! SBH 2998, 2999 and 3000 are completely new for me.
-
Thanks a bunch for these uploads.
Incidentally, my favorite of these would have to be SBH 2979 - especially the track "Victory."
-
"Victory"? Oh that track is nothing less than amazing. I heard it was the theme song to an Australian TV police drama called "Homicide", and it's almost as synonymous with this genre of show as Brian Bennett's "New Horizons" which essentially became the theme song for cricket on Channel 9.
Ah, and I've been wondering if anyone has the following Boosey & Hawkes albums:
SBH 3044 (John Scott - Tales of Travel and Adventure)
SBH 3050 (Trevor Duncan - The Electric Anagram Band with Strings)
SBH 3023 (Trevor Duncan - Sinfonia Tellurica, Movements 1 & 2)
I wanted to request these long ago but I'm quite shy and have college going on as well :)
-
Holy Moly! Thanks for all the B&H!!!
-
renren, I have those and they'll be coming along the way soon. Will upload a few more today- just need to record 3008.
-
'Nudder Boosey Bounty for your Sunday.

Thank you Retro!
-
Thank you very much Retronic. :)
-
Awesome Retronic, thank you
-
Outstanding! Thanks!
-
It feels good giving these old discs new life and making them sound the best I can. They could easily be forgotten as they don't have the stand out tracks that others do but I'm a fan of Frank Talley & Eugene Cines' dramatics so there's enjoyable stuff here.
SBH 3012:

Here's another album I had ripped for myself poorly
Your Pal,
Doug
-
Ditto! Preserving..
That's what digitalization is, also.
Thanks again Retro.
-
Your shares are reminiscent of all those kegger parties during college. Thanks for the Boosey Binge, Retronic!
;D
-
So, as per the other chat, the ones I'm missing from the lower numbers are:
2961, 2965, 2968, 2971, 2974, 2975.
I can only imagine they came under the heading of "missing out the ones that looked boring". :D
-
Yes could be that. I can go back and fill em
in

Bloody marvellous! :)

While working through more Boosey & Hawkes I revisited SBH 3074, a very pleasant listen. So much so that it clearly inspired me to make this Milky Way' compilation back in March 2012.

Many thanks!
-
Cool stuff- thanks!
-
Do you have SBH 3078? Sorry I keep asking that. Do you also have SBH 3063?
-
Not done these two yet but will get around to them.
-
No offense, but it's been almost a week now. Have you got the records yet?
-
are you serious?
-
are you serious?
I''m trying to be nice and remind him that it's been a week now. I'm not being any harm.
-
I understand that maybe English isn’t someone’s first language but lately some messages have come across as demanding.
In actual fact I was half way through editing one record when you posted last week but your post irritated me so I decided I not to post it. You deleted that post and posted another post. I have other things to do and am happy to share if people ask me and are patient.
In all fairness it probably wasn’t all you. I have felt less inclined to post lately due to people expecting a lot when they get something for nothing that takes a lot of work to do sometimes.
It’s not like me to spit my dummy out but on this occasion it has bothered me.

Sorry, I thought it would be easy. I didn't know. Can you forgive me?
-
Understandable, Retro. You don't owe rude and pushy members anything. WSBG seems to have misunderstood the spirit of our community. Generosity, patience, and gratitude are our top values here.
-
Of course WSBG. I an not someone who bears a grudge. I’ve been on the forum since 2012 and that’s the stroppiest post I think I’ve ever made. It’s fine. If I say I’ll do it I usually will and don’t mind a polite nudge. But ultimately what people share here is up to them and those who buy records, clean them, rip them, de click them, tag and share them do it because they want to. When it stops being fun I will not do it anymore.
I have felt lately and it echoes what you said Stack in the Fake FLAC that the desire/ obsession for lossless has made people feel frustrated when rips aren’t flawless. I’m happy with the odd flaw and got bored of people asking for me to keep fixing everything.
Anyone can save up and buy a record player and record the stuff themselves if our rips aren’t good enough for them.
Moan over.
-
I'll wait a little more if you want.
-
The odd flaw, i call it atmosphere, maybe people are gettin' a li'l too Boosey. Maybe the younger generation are too impatient ?
Good things come to those who wait. Show a little gratitude and courtesy, that is the least you can do.
Ps. English isn’t my first language.
My sincere appreciation.
Flemming. ;)
-
Cheers Flemming :-)
-
thanks, Retronic!
-
Many thanks Retronic, to you and all the board staff, and to all the contributors, for your terrific work.
You have made the best musical board of the world! :D
Happy new year to everyone!
-
Thank you so much for all your hard work Retronic. I just went through your entire thread here and downloaded 13 rips that I didn't have. Your extreme generosity and dedication is much appreciated, as always :)
