Title: Teddy Lasry & friends - 4 albums in lossless
Post by: tezeta on April 13, 2019, 07:20:54 PM
Hello and good day everyone!

Here's some long-awaited albums featuring Teddy Lasry for you all, in FLAC format. Please forgive the delay in their appearance...

First up, from 1974, we have Hypnose, a very weird and psychedelic LP on International Music Label featuring fellow ex-Magma member Jannick Top and famous jazz drummer Daniel Humair, among several others. Lasry seems to feature prominently on woodwinds and keyboards on the others' compositions as well. This is a high-resolution lossless rip with lineage.

Next is a more conventional (but nonetheless charming) outing from Lasry alone, Tutti Fluti, from '75 on the Patchwork label. This was already posted as a personal rip by Andrew at https://librarymusicthemes.net/index.php?topic=2633, but mine is a different, high-resolution rip with lineage, posted here for the sake of comparison. I welcome others' opinions as to how it stacks up versus Andrew's rip!

Next we have (IMHO) Lasry's first masterpiece... From 1976, the magnificent e=mc². A delightful album of space-themed (naturally!) rock instrumentals, it also features the great Andre Ceccarelli on drums and the aforementioned Janick Top on bass. This lossless rip was done by an anonymous individual (thanks!) and ran a bit fast, so I applied some speed correction to make it run at a slower, natural speed. Here we see Lasry the synthesist entering full bloom, with woodwinds starting to take a backseat. My favorite track may be the hypnotic "Birds of Space"... What a trip!

Last but certainly not least, we have a second masterpiece: Seven Stones, an album my friend aptly described as a tribute to all the progressive music greats of the '70's. Lasry's sequencing talents have obviously expanded greatly in the three years since e=mc², as evidenced by the wonderful opening track "Quartz". Meanwhile, all the instrumental credits have shifted to Lasry alone, making this a one-man-band album of immense proportion - Just read the credits! "RMI Keyboard Computer, ARP Odyssey, Micro Moog, Prophet 5 Synthesizer, Korg Polyphonic Ensemble, Korg 3300, Fender Rhodes, Soprano Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute, Drums, Percussion, Producer", all done by Lasry... A veritable musical feast! This is a high-resolution rip with lineage.

Once more, thank you to the rippers, and... Enjoy the music!

many times i tried to restored mp3 copy from all noise in izotope RX for comfort listening. But this exactly another level of quality of sound layers.

at some moments the smile never left my face, at some I forgot how to breathe. ;D

Wow! Great work.

This appears to be the version of the wonderful + ou - 8000 that I posted previously to the forum. I'm sad to report, after spectral analysis, I determined that that rip was actually remastered from an MP3 rip, so I deleted the original thread. My rip of Rush was also transcoded mp3, and I was planning to post both these albums in a thread with other lossy Lasry rips I'd picked up, requesting upgrades. You've saved me the trouble of doing that, now, at least! If anyone owns the record and would be able to make a true lossless rip, it would be very, very appreciated!

La Femme is also an excellent one indeed, features Jannick Top on bass as well, I believe. So very wonderful to hear it in the pristine quality it deserves!

Thank you so much, once more, for your awesome generosity, vslava! This music will be getting lots of repeat listening on my end.  ;D  ;D
