Mystery hold music
« on: October 16, 2021, 05:57:46 PM »
Hi,

I was calling the front desk from my hotel room this morning and heard this music. I was on hold for a while, so I decided to record a voice memo. Not editing it to make a clean version with no voice, just gonna post it raw. Excuse the background noise.

Shazam couldn’t recognize it when I held it up to the receiver, but maybe it’ll recognize this recording better if someone tries it. The trumpet part is dope. It’s a pretty good imitation of Herb Alpert and/or Chuck Mangione. Anybody else maybe recognize this music?

Don't know what it is, but you're right...that's some good stuff! By the sounds of it, it sounds like it was produced circa very late 80's or very early 90's and it may be library music. Because if you notice, it keeps looping itself as if the tune is only a min and some long. I could be wrong, but this is my guess.
