LodgeNet 2000s welcomechannel music
« on: September 28, 2021, 04:38:40 AM »
Here's a mystery track which has been on my mind recently. In the 1990s-2010s there was a hotel-room TV service called LodgeNet which offered pay-per-view movies, Nintendo games, etc. The welcome channel had this piece of music that's been stuck in my head for years:

1:02 in this video:

The music is library, and dates back to at least 1989, because it's in a University of Colorado commercial which ran during that year's Orange Bowl:

Anybody recognize it? Thanks for any help.

It sounds familiar. I'm guessing FirstCom, Omnimusic or Network.

I'm not sure if this will help your search, but the song "Kickin' Back" by Luis Torres was a song featured on the Welcome Channel for Lodgenet services.
This was discovered by checking Cyberlink Power Director 7 Ultra and under Jazz Fusion it was listed. Found via a plumbing video of all places.
My guess is Lodgenet maybe used these kinds of programs and took the music for their own menus?

edit (I have also found this song on an Intel Pentium 4 2.0 GHz vs. Intel Pentium III 1.0 GHz (2001) video)
You may also find luck in searching up SmartSound's libraries. In the album Full Spectrum, "Kickin' Back" is also listed.

I'm also searching for this song lol.  8]
