Anton Valotti's "Spiro"
« on: March 26, 2021, 09:19:23 AM »
Hi all,

I've been kicking back this morning, drinking too much coffee whilst enjoying the "Bite Hard" compilation and I have to say, Anton Valotti's "Spiro" is one heck of a powerful track.  I believe it was on his "Blackout" album [1975]..?  It's been a stand out track for me since first hearing it years ago.

Just wondering if anyone has any info on the track itself, where on TV it may have been used in the past and who the incredible drummer is.

Any information gleaned from this website is ALWAYS greatly appreciated!

Info on who played in sessions isn’t widely available and the LP itself gives little away.

It's such a shame, isn't it?  Those session musicians were really something else.
I guess it's much like the musicians used for all the big names during the 50s and 60s [Wrecking Crew, etc.]

Who would have guessed it was the same guys who were playing on the latest Beach Boys hits that were playing the scores for some of our favourite TV shows.
